All business
owners want to keep their property safe and secure. To do this, you can choose
from a variety of commercial fencing types depending on your requirements.
At LA Fencing Contractors Ltd we specialise in
commercial fencing for businesses in Stafford and the surrounding area. In this
week’s blog, we discuss the types of barriers available and their advantages.
If durability and longevity are your priorities then
steel or aluminium for the boundaries of your commercial site are fantastic options.
They do not need much maintenance and can be colour treated for a customised
appearance.
Two choices of design for steel and aluminium fencing
that are popular include Paladin and Palisade. Paladin boundaries offer
protection against intruders climbing or cutting through to gain access to your
site. Palisade is a versatile option that is suitable for all kinds of
commercial sites and is resistant to vandalism.
Chain-Link Boundaries
The most common type of fencing for commercial sites is
chain-link. With the possible add-ons of barbed wire and slats for wind
reduction and privacy, it is a very versatile option.
The material is durable and long-lasting. It can have a
galvanised coating making it weather and rust-resistant. Alternatively, a vinyl
or powder-coated layer creates a weatherproof veneer that is fully
colour-customisable.
Apart from checking now and again for loose bolts or
nuts, there is little to no ongoing maintenance required. Chain-link designs
are suitable for a range of commercial sites and can also be installed indoors,
for example as boundaries around machinery.
Wooden Fencing
While being a popular choice for residential homes,
wooden fencing can also be an effective choice for commercial properties.
Available in a range of types of wood including pine and cedar, it is a
versatile and environmentally friendly option. Some designs to choose from
include:
- Tongue and
Groove
- Spindle Picket
- Lattice and
Spindle
- Vertical Board
- Stockade
Solid timber planks provide properties with privacy and
can be built to whatever height you require. Maintenance is required to keep
the material in a good condition, however with one fresh coat of paint or stain
every 12 months the fencing will last a long time.
Enhance Your Site Security
The main purpose of commercial fencing is often
security. Alongside lighting and signage, it acts as a deterrent for intruders
and many designs are difficult to cut through or climb easily.
The type of barriers that you decide to install around
your property depends on the requirements of the site. Additional security may
be desired such as wardens and guard dogs, CCTV and motion sensors.
Alongside the barriers, you can also install electric
gates so you have more access control. With this, you will know who is at your
property, why and for how long.
